Hello! We are Martin & Bill, two volunteers with local charity Friends of York Walls. Over the last couple of months we have started preparations for the second York Walls Festival.

Launch meeting – York St. John University
In January an initial get-together of interested parties was well attended, with representation from:
- York Museums Trust
- York Explore
- York City Council
- Guild of Media Arts
- Beaufort Companye
- York University
- York St John University
- Walmgate Community Association
- Yorgame
- Red Tower
- Friends of York Walls
Visit York and The Jorvik Group have also been in contact. As groups decide on what they would like to do, details will be added to the website. A big thank-you to John Chapman for help in setting up the website.

And finally, Baile Hill
One area in need of some TLC in York is Baile Hill, by Skeldergate Bridge. As this tweet from last summer shows, it was in quite a state back then. In the coming weeks we’ll be in touch with local groups to see if there is appetite for a Walls Festival event there on August 11th.
